-Weekly highlight to new albums at the show, presents 2008, Easy Star Records release, 'Amplify', the latest work from renewed USA band John Brown's Body (JBB)!

The so called Progressive music is nowadays, a wave that reaches all and any musical genre. Understood as a music style, progressive reveals a creative willingness to introduce new, or even strange, elements, to the musical genre in question.
Northern Europe, Asia or the USA, are some of the places were progressive style reaches bigger proportions, and its in the last one, dat we find of the most committed reggae bands, to breach pre-concepts associated wid the style, Boston collective, John Brown´s Body.

Created around 1995, and 'baptized' in honor to American slave abolitionist, John Brown (1800-1859), JBB were, during the 2nd half of the 90Ts, often acclaimed as one the best Roots Reggae USA experiences, along 'side project' 10ft Ganja Plant.
After 3 albums, (All Time['96] , Among Them ['99], This Day [2000]), the latest years has shown lots of changes and experimentalism incursions, mainly in 2005 release, Pressure Points, the last to feature long time vocalist Kevin Kinsella.

Now, led by Elliot Martin, backup vocals, since JBB 2nd release ,10 years ago, 2008 brought new life to JBB, wid the release of the latest 'Amplify'.

Besides an almost complete renewal of the group elements, and a series of guest featuring, 'Amplify' materializes the evolution works from the last 2 albums, introducing JBB as THE progressive reggae band! For some, the fusion of influences from classic 70Ts UK reggae, indie rock, hip-hop or African instrumentation, translates itself in a kind of Future Reggae...
Although dis expression may cause a very wide variety of meanings, truth is dat 'Amplify' is different from all we have heard, concerning the universe of fusing styles, wid reggae as the main focus. If progressive addicts will be marvel by the extreme instrumentation full wid synthesizers, or Elliot Martin unique liric style; fans from the roots will surely identify themselves also, mainly wid the great horns arrangements presented.

To complete JBB progressive philosophy, 'Amplfy' features the one they (and I!) consider to be, modern reggae biggest progressive artist, Vaughn Benjamin from Midnite! His featuring, in is always 'ahead of dis time' style, over the tune 'Speak of the Devil' is great, and empowers the track that has already the best touch in 'Amplify', revealing a Dub side, that we truly hope to see explored in future workssmiley
For now, and wid release scheduled to 17 March, also by Easy Star Records, fans are surely advised to also check the new 'Re-Amplify'. Remix concept EP, featuring world remix forces like Wrongtom, Goldie Locks, Tommy Sunshine, Blue King Brown or Dubmatix!
Listen and watch "The Gold" remix version to get an idea of that will be!
