Presented in Crossroads like The Rockers Disciples and Chola, the first highlight to the new album is surely going to Chola’s extraordinary voice, well inspired by seventies soulful roots & culture feminine Jamaican voices. Without never falling into that age clichés, Chola messages have a blessed instruction and guidance theme, routed to face modern times tribulations. Wid a genuine melancholy, and an honest emotion, since the first track Freedom, Master of your Destiny, Don’t Wait, going through the intimates Other Ways or I Won’t Be Sorry, Chola sings divine lyrics in a lovely way, always in a perfect combination wid Rockers Disciples classic dread rockers style! Musically, the Uptown Studio All Stars, wid classic horns, piano and organ, and a joint rhythm section, revive in perfection the golden Jamaican rockers age, wid a special word of mention, to the percussions, that fill the musical background, where the silences and pauses are also to be listened! Released by Stepin Forward / Uptown Records and distributed also by fair traders Urban Sedated Records, Crossroads present also a great number of dub versions (aligned in classic showcase style in the LP format), where is hard to tell the difference between the analogue and digital production! A sound mix and capture of the highest level, only overcome by the new exclusive mixes recently released together wid legendary dubmaster Scientist! Crossroads is one of those albums where each time you give it a listen, you are surely going to find something new, a rare thing in our days, that places The Rockers Disciples in the restrict group of musicians that found in reggae music origins, the right teachings to state their own originality!
